in order to motivate you a bit more on patching your Gem sources (for
the pix_texture thing...), here is another one, which hopefully might do
what you want with the pwc.
just apply the patch, and copy the pwc-ioctl.h into Pixes (if it is not
already in some standard path), compile and see whether it works...

(i haven't tried as i don't have a pwc here (i think))
