[GEM-dev] NVidia optimus on Linux and Gem

I'm a little confused about the problem. I can live without Optimus 
technology but if future Nvidia cards that support Optimus don't offer a 
decent driver with 3D accel that's a different problem. What exactly is 
the situation? Are the ATI Linux proprietary drivers still not a 
reasonable alternative?
