i had a look at the different alsa implementations in 0.36 and 0.37.

it seems that in 0.36 in and out channels are configured at one time ...
in 0.37 first the out channels are configured and then the in
channels... and a function alsa_pcm_link is being run ...

could this cause the different behaviour?
