Cool - this would be a good conference paper somewhere, maybe LAC...
But maybe it would be easier for you if I simply ask you specific
qestions when I don't understand something in the diffs...

Not sure when I'll realy get to work on this - I'm also hoping to put in
a proper multiple-undo facility (borrowing from Ico) and am toying with
the idea of making it easier to bundle patches and their support files
together somehow (so that you can distribute a patch that would have its
own abstractions/samples/whatever bundled in).
