<p>The link <a href="http://puredata.info/docs/faq/how-do-i-install-externals-and-help-files?portal_status_message=Your+changes+have+been+saved" rel="nofollow">http://puredata.info/docs/faq/how-do-i-install-externals-and-help-files?portal_status_message=Your+changes+have+been+saved</a> has long mentioned about global system folders that you can install Pd externals, but these are not created by Pd during installation, I think it should.</p>
<p>The user-specific folder is created in Mac OS, so it seems, but no tin windows/linux.</p>
<p>Regarding windows, the User-specific folder %AppData%\Pd is not created </p>
<p>In Linux, the ~/.local/lib/pd/extra (preferred since version Pd-0.47-1) is not created</p>
