Also, John Carmack (of Doom/Quake fame) has ported XFree86 to MacOS X so
it may be possible to run an almost plain Unix version of PD.  Has anyone
tried PD on FreeBSD.  It shouldn't be that big a deal to get going and
there is now a lot more sound card support - including the trident 4dwave
cards. From there MacOS X should be easy since it is FreeBSD based.
