Yep...  thanks for that, I think I've fixed it in my copy:

in canvas_vis(), it should be:

    else    /* make invisible */
    {
    	int i;
    	t_canvas *x2;
    	if (!x->gl_havewindow)
	{
    	    canvas_create_editor(x, 0);
	    return;
	}
	glist_noselect(x);

I'll fix some other stuff and grind out attempt number 11..
