There is another way: If you get the inofficial csound for linux,
there is OSC support (actually written by Stefan). This enables you to
send krate float values to csound. On the pd side, get the OSC objects
for pd and connect them to your midiin.

One advantage of OSC is that it can be sent over networks without any
change in the code by just specifying the IP Number to send to/receive
from.
