[PD] Envelopes

Hi! I wonder what is the best approach to write audio envelopes in Pd... something like the GEN functions or linseg objects in Csound. Or like the line object in Max. As 
fas as I know, in Max you can specify several pairs of points to line (like a csound's linseg) instead of just one as in Pd. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I can think of a metro triggering different line~objects at different times but that does not seem too good for me.... 

I'll appreciate any ideas.
