i have the intel8x0 chip
got it working fine with Alsa and pd with the usb-audio (midiman)
this is on a vaio laptop grx 560 with 512MB ram 1.8 GHZ with the radeon.
redhat 7.3
i am not sure about debian, though but clicking audio is irq stacking

once the kernel is patched for acpi and swsuss all the IRQs work fine
(even got the conexant modem to work) ..currently researching wireless for
campus performances...
our wireless is not multicast

i have not tested GEM yet but i had async errors with SGI performer
which is really what i wanted working
