hallo all..

i thought i'd once again attempt to compile gem from cvs
(compiled without error).. however i've run into a reoccuring
   problem..

the gem library load successfully and as far as i know all
the objects load fine, with the exception of the gemwin
object which crashes pd with a segfault message as soon as
     it's created.

i am running a customized mandrake linux on a pIII with no
graphics accel and mesa5 (all the mesa demo's run ok)
all the standard libraries required to run gem are installed
and appear to work in other contexts..

i am guessing that the segfault is due to a shared library
confliction, but i'm not sure which library would be causing
the breakage (glut??) and how i would go about repairing the
problem. if logs and such are useful, i will forward them
     through to the list.

i don't have access to a windows box, so for now my gem work
is fermenting a bit.. plus i'm itching to try yves' bridge to
pdp.. if anyone can help it would be very much appreciated.

thanks,
dmotd
