[PD] Gem install on mandrake 9.1

yes there is a GEM.README file, it says:

To install GEM on linux:
chdir into <Gemdir>/src/Gnu
read the README.build etc...

-------------------------------------
-------------------------------------

and the gem-0.87/src/Gnu/README.build says

./configure 
make 
make install

(previously ./makeauxlibs in the GemLibs dir)
