touch with each other to travel together if there is opportunity to do so.

Other note: the workshop will be followed by a concert by the
Montréal-based duo "Unisexe" (Michal Seta & Lise Comtois). The concert
will be at the Mercury Lounge, also in downtown Ottawa.

Subject: GridFlow workshop / Atelier sur GridFlow

On july 19th and 20th, Artengine presents an introductory workshop on jMax
and GridFlow, with Mathieu Bouchard and Alexandre Castonguay.

jMax is a visual programming environment for interactive real-time music
and multimedia. GridFlow is a multi-dimensional dataflow processing
library, specialized in image and video, designed to integrate with jMax.
Both are open-source software.

The principles of those applications are simple: the software's genericity
invite the creation of effects from simple components, instead of imposing
readymade effects.

Participation in the workshop is limited, to permit hands-on
experimentation with the provided equipment. The focus of the workshop
will be on "real-life" interfaces and video. The fee is 20 $ and the location 
is room 205 of the Visual Arts Department, University of Ottawa, 100 Laurier 
Avenue East.

Les 19 et 20 juillet prochains, Artengine présente un atelier sur jMax et
GridFlow, avec Mathieu Bouchard et Alexandre Castonguay.

jMax est un environnement de programmation visuelle pour la réalisation
d'applications musicales et multimédia interactives. GridFlow est une
librairie de traitement à flot de données multi-dimensionnel, spécialisée
en image et vidéo, et conçue pour s'intégrer avec jMax. Les deux sont des
logiciels open-source.

Le principe de ces logiciels est simple: par leur généricité, ils incitent
à la création d'effets à partir de composantes simples, au lieu d'imposer
des effets « readymade ».

Le nombre de participants est limité, afin de permettre l'expérimentation
pratique sur l'équipement fourni. L'atelier portera sur les interfaces
avec l'extérieur et sur la vidéo. Les frais seront de 20 $. L'atelier se 
déroulera dans la salle 205 du département des Arts Visuels de l'Université 
d'Ottawa, 100 avenue Laurier est.
