jack 0.90.1, alsa 0.9.8 or 1.0.0_rc2 ... both compiled from gentoo
ebuild files...

when any application tries to access the sound device (alsa or oss) the
sound routed from the analog inputs to the line out sounds distorted ...
when stoping the application (or dsp in pd) the line out sounds good,
again...

i haven't tried that, but i doubt, that it's a jack problem, but an alsa
problem...

i read that ... i used to change the sample clock source with
hdsploader, but jack didn't wanted to start (i'll have to check for the
error message)

i downgraded the firmware as i read in dieb13's howto's
