change the file extension from .txt to .pd.
If you haven't done it already, you should disable the "hide file 
extensions for known file types" feature in the windows explorer 
preferences.
Tools -> Folder Options -> View
otherwise, even if you try to chagne it to whatever.pd, it might call it 
whatever.pd.txt
