[PD] send/receive vs. connection

may i add myself to this post and add 3 more questions related (ok one
is a bit off-topic)

- what about direct audio connections compared to send~/receive~ and
eventually throw~/catch~
- is there any difference between a straight simple process (let's say
an osc~, a *~ and a dac~) and the same with the *~ in a subatch
(so using 1 inlet, 1 inlet~ and 1 outlet~ )

- what's the best when dealing with VERY simple math in an
abstraction copied a lot, some pd native operators or expr ?
