So what you state as the real reason why it was created, is nothing but
the official statement of the IRCAM, regardless of actual facts?

This was the idea behind IMPD.

I've never "needed" that, and have successfully run several gallery
installations and one computer-assisted theatre performance without ever
using a remote GUI.

(Nevertheless, it's been a year that we have switched away from jMax for
all our shows)
