[PD] markers external??

You can store any information you would like in WAV-files.
When you look at the file format specification you'll find that it is
build using chunks of data. There are chunks that represent header
information and chunks for audiodata. Undefined chunks can actually store
anything like executables, pictures, video data, or your address book
contents.
Various professional software titles have very poor WAV-file (error)
handling. They crash on, or misinterprete the WAV-file data. But
technically speaking, you can store markers in WAV-data.
