[PD] pd-extended on mac os x - magic words

what magic words or bits of code (or directions to bits of code or  
installation instructions or advice) need to be added to make pidip  
and pdp and gem work together in pd-extended release RC7?

i see that things like pdp2gem are installed but they don't work, at  
least on my pb with os 10.4.4 .... files in the examples section are  
missing objects (dotted boxes instead of objects) and selecting some  
files just crashes pd.

any/all suggestions, guidance, advice r much appreciated -
