dear list,

a little message to say that i just got freebob (driver for firewire
sound cards on linux) to work with an edirol FA66, jack and puredata,
yesterday on a recent toshiba laptop. it feels quite good indeed.
i had to compile libs by hand though, following instructions here:
http://freebob.sourceforge.net/index.php/Compiling_from_SVN_HOWTO#Downloading_and_installing
as distro, i used dapper (it is still beta but seems to work already
quite nicely and has a preemptive flag in its kernel by default) - the
only annoying thing is that for the time being i have to launch
jackd/freebob in sudo mode to get realtime performances available...

best regards,
vincent
