[PD] Why does PixelTANGO crash on Pd-extended 0.38 on Windows XP?

^There's the question.  Every time I try slipping in a pt.rotate,
pt.video, pt.*, Pd crashes.  I am trying to set things up on my
friend's computer for a show in a few weeks, and would love to have
the niceties of some time-saving PixelTANGO abstractions.

Should I dig in and strip it down, or is there a more elegant way to
fix this problem?
