[Pd] splitting Pd on two processors

Some time back someone made reference to the fact that one could
theoretically run wish and pd on two separate computers that were
networked together. I logged this away but didn't ask anything.

I'm wondering about specifics now. I'm considering buying a cheap old
pc from ebay and putting Linux on it. I have WinXP, and tried Debian
before on my 2nd hard drive, but it was a pain in the tuckus.
So, my ideal situation would be to have one monitor, one keyboard, one
mouse, and two towers. Maybe a switch for all the peripherals?
I'm guessing I would have to have the monitor etc on whichever
computer runs Wish. Is it possible to network a Linux box and a
Windows, or will I have to reinstall Linux on my extra hard drive?
Then, is it possible to operate Pd if the keyboard, etc are only on
one computer?

Thanks.
