i perfectly know what he means,
but as most quicktime movies are in YUV mode,
and most cameras output YUV,
you cannot avoid some kind of conversion somewhere.

ademas, there is a RGBA format in pdp,
and pdp_xv doesn't need any conversion to output frames.
