[PD] general approach for live-input

Hi list

i have a question from the first days, when i started to use PD.

So many cool abstractions are made for "sample" manipulation, based  
on tables or arrays. But not for live-audio input.
To test i usually "jack" itunes to pd.

So if i want to change such a patch to be used for realtime-use, what  
is it i need to do ??

I guess, but i dont know exactly how to do that....

send the iput to a del or vd~ object and then to an array....but i am  
confused about how to read that in and out.

If someone wants to give me a hint, i would be very happy
