[PD] Trouble with Memory and Pointers

Crashes are often caused by standard C issues, like accessing  
uninitialized variables or stale pointers.  Other than that, you  
should provide a lot more detail.  Plus pd-dev is probably more  
appropriate so we can spare the newbies the down and dirty C talk. :-)
