[PD] [?slider]-resolution and number altering

Hey Pd'ers

I long ago had some troubles with a patch that used the (iem) gui  
slider. The patch was buggy and i couldn't figure why till i fund  
that the slider somehow altered the number sent through it.

Today i looked a tad more into it. The results are documented in the  
attached patch. - If i'm repeating something i'd like to know what  
and where it is. Other feedback also most welcome.
