[PD] [midiin] doesn't recognize SYSTEM COMMON or SYSTEM REALTIME messages

Thanx a lot, Andreas! [midirealtimein] is working perfectly!

I really can't understand why these things are not findable in the help
files. Not even a search through the entire program folder of Pd (windows)
searching for midi* came up with this object. Where is it? Is this somewhere
hidden inside some other object?

Ingo

REALTIME messages

Does anybody know how to receive SYSTEM COMMON or SYSTEM REAL TIME messages?

The [midiin] object only outputs 0xF0 (sysex start), 0xF7 (sysex end) and
0xF6 (tune request).
Anything else between 0xF0 and 0xFF is being ignored. [sysexin] doesn't do
it either.

I  really need 0xFA and 0xFC ( = start / stop ) as well as 0xFE ( = active
sensing ) to communicate with the standard transport buttons, etc. on normal
keyboards.

How would you sync to midi clock if 0xF8 ( = midi timing clock) is being
ignored?

Does anybody know how to get this to work? Is there any other object that
can receive raw midi?

Ingo

Hello Ingo,

take a look at [midirealtimein], i can recieve 0xFA, 0xFC and 0xF8 with it,
hopefully the others as well.

Andras
