This is turning out to be a wonderful tool:

[f]x[+ 1]

1) Turn on cord inspector
2) In edit mode, mouse over one of the cords so the inspector 
appears.
3) Hold down <ctrl> to go into transient run mode
4) The inspector stays where it is.  Awesome!  Keep <ctrl> down 
and go click the bng and watch your data flow without the need for 
any number boxes or [print]!
