The CICM is pleased to announce the new release of the HOA Library that
includes 3D rendering and Linux support.

The HOA library  (High Order Ambisonics)  is a collection of C++ classes
and a set of FAUST functions (http://faust.grame.fr/) destined to sound
spatialization.

The HOA library allows musicians and composers to synthesize, transform and
render sound fields in a creative and artistic way. It aims facilitating
the understanding and the appropriation of key concepts of Ambisonics. It
offers original processing like diffuse sound field synthesis, perspective
distortion or spatial filtering and new graphical interfaces. The library
is available for Pure Data, Max and as VST plugins.

The HOA library is free, open-source and made available by the CICM, the
centre of research on musical composition and computer science of the
University Paris 8.

The project has been developed as a part of the LABEX Arts H2H at the MSH
Paris-Nord and the plate-forme Arts-Sciences-Technologies.

Le CICM est heureux d'annoncer la nouvelle version de la bibliothèque HOA
qui comprend le rendu 3D.

La bibliothèque HOA (High Order Ambisonics) est une collection de classes
C++ et un ensemble de fonctions FAUST (http://faust.grame.fr/) destinés
à la spatialisation du son.

La bibliothèque HOA permet aux musiciens et compositeurs de
synthétiser, transformer et restituer des champs sonores de façon
créative et artistique. Elle vise à faciliter
la compréhension et l'appropriation des concepts clés
de l'Ambisonie. Elle propose des traitements originaux comme la synthèse
de champ diffus, la distorsion de perspective ou le filtrage spatial ainsi
que de nouvelles interfaces graphiques. La bibliothèque est disponible
pour Pure Data, Max et sous forme de plugins VST.

La bibliothèque HOA est gratuite, open-source et mise à disposition
par la CICM, le Centre de recherche Informatique et Création
Musicale de l'Université Paris 8.

Le projet a été développé dans le cadre du Labex Arts H2H à la
MSH Paris-Nord et la Plate-forme Arts-Sciences-Technologies.
