If it is cost that concerns you, you live anywhere with western prices and you
take any account of your time and the time to teach a new interface to operators
... then DIY with pd is much more expensive than a few hundred dollars buying a
ready made, well tested and familiar solution that does what you need ... unless
you are going to deploy your system very widely.
You can do many things with pd that you cannot with a standard cueing system
