which version of "deken" are you using?
recent deken, e.g. v0.1 (it's a bit unfortunate that deken doesn't give
any hints about which version it is) should show "show all" in the
button if there is no search text.

i just tested this on
- Debian (using the pd-deken package)
- Win7 (pd-0.45.x; downloaded deken-plugin.tcl from github)
- OSX (pd-0.45.y; downloaded deken-plugin.tcl from github)

attached you'll find a few screenshots how it should look like.

but anyhow, even if you have an outdated version of deken, it should
give you a full list of available packages¹ when "search"ing for an
empty search string.

¹ well, minus all the packages that were filtered out by the bugs in
your version of deken.
