You compiled it successfully on Tiger ? Wow. Never got it to work. Supposed to work on Panther though. <br>

I think you should create a symbolic link to Ruby 1.9 and delete the old one: <br>
<br>
rm /usr/bin/ruby<br>
ln -s /usr/bin/ruby1.9 /usr/bin/ruby<br>
<br>
Do that at your own risks !!!!<br>
