Hi,

I've been digging through the archives of the mailing list trying to find more info on this problem I'm having getting Gem to load but I can't find anything promising so at the risk of being told to RTFM I'm turning to you guys for help.

I installed the CCRMA gem package on Fedora Core 6 and everything went great but when I run pd -lib Gem as root or as a regular user the program boots and I get the following message in the console:

/usr/lib/pd/extra/Gem/Gem.pd_linux: /usr/lib/libaviplayavcodec-
0.7.so.0: cannot restore segment prot after reloc: Permission denied
Gem: can't load library

Anybody got any pointers as to what this might be? Like I said I even tried running the command as root thinking it might just be the permissions on the library.

Sorry I'm still new to all this, thanks!

Eric
