Hi Thomas,

I've finally spent enough time reading your thesis to feel comfortable asking a couple questions :) First though, I have to say that the extent of what you accomplished in your implementation is very impressive. It looks like you went the way.

I am not sure about what you are using for SMS data - or how you transform the data you are working with based on the feature map you have calculated. Could you help me understand this?

cheers,
Rich

Hi Luigi, hi Jack,
thanks for your kind words.
I'm not yet performing with the instrument since at the moment it's
more a worked-out concept with a proof-of-concept implementation. For
that it's working pretty well, but it still has its rough edges. As
stated in the conclusion of the thesis i need to develop my skills as
well as the actual sensoric devices and gesture and sounds
repertories before i will actually climb the stage with it. I think
that will take up some more months.
Concerning the patches, i have not yet thought about how to
distribute all that stuff that has piled up during the course of this
work. One of the problems is that more functionality than i would
have liked has had to be realized as (flext-based) externals due to
performance reasons. Given the trouble i'm having with maintaining my
already published stuff i don't think it's a good idea to add more to
it.
The more i think about it, i would rather like to share conceptual
ideas more than actual implementations - also because i think that
such an approach as i took could take on many different forms which
are all interesting and worth exploring. Hence, it's not so much
about the patches... the top two levels are printed in the thesis
anyway.
