I just discovered that GEM is lacking font support in some recent linux<br>
packages available at <a href="http://puredata.info" target="_blank">puredata.info</a>.<br>

Creating an object like [text3d] triggers a warning in the console,<br>
stating "GEM has been compiled without FONT support".<br>

I can confirm this for the following packages<br>
<br>
- Debian squeeze i386<br>
- Ubuntu Lucid amd64<br>
