A shot in the dark, I'd say on debian you're in trouble when it comes to<br>
mp3 and stuff like that, because of non-free codecs.<br>
<br>
Try to add the non-free repository in your apt sources, install the lame<br>
library, and rebuild pd. It might help.<br>
