I’m not familiar with Latex, but are you able to pull in PDFs? Just double click the .ps file and Preview will convert it to PDF. See if that looks a little better. I am just now finishing a book on Pd, and use PDF figures converted from PostScript. The patch file example figures I use are directly printed (to file) as postscript files.
