I just saw a very impressive thing by Ed Large (a neuro-science
guy from UCONN). He models neuron oscillations with coupled
nonlinear equations and with this he gets really nice spikes at
the pulse tempo even with signals that don't have any onsets on
the beat. <br>

He said the model will be available in a month or so and the paper
is still under review. The other thing is that there is a training
layer (also neuro-model motivated) that you have to warm the thing
up with, but my impression is that you only have to do this once
and then it is ready to go. It's worth keeping an eye on for beat
tracking solutions.<br>
