certainly the Raspberries are cheaper than the Udoo, even with this card<br>
included ... but 3+ x the price of a Raspberry does get you a lot more computing<br>
power (4 much faster CPU cores plus an Arduino Due core with all the analogue<br>
and digital IO exposed and internally connected ... and the GPUs have openCL<br>
available and much more comprehensive documentation if you want to use them at a<br>
very raw level). There are much better peripherals included if you need that.<br>
Not sure yet how the audio noise compares between the wolfson, plain raspberry<br>
and udoo but will test and report eventually<br>

I ordered one the other day, so I'll definitely test it, too. (I've<br>

They are good value and compact, but rather limited compared to units that cost<br>
a bit more. I've done a few projects, they are probably most useful for video<br>
playback and working with GPIO input, the wolfson card may make them good for<br>
stereo audio also ... but the access to the GPU is fairly closed and I've<br>
struggled to get them to do what I want, kind of got there ... certainly playing<br>
a single HD video with sound through hdmi is good, 3D mapping is possible, also<br>
alpha overlays ... but it is still very much custom per project at the moment<br>
for me. Playing HD is very much at the limit of what they can do and requires a<br>
lot of tweaking and compromises depending on what is wanted each time. They can<br>
do more at lower resolutions. Documentation beyond the sample code is limited.<br>
The GPIO stuff has some nice libraries and works well.<br>
<br>
Sometime later this year I'll have something more generalised and usable that I<br>
can share, but for now it really is too messy.<br>

I just checked the current Pd-extended.dmg and it does not come with<br>
[readanysf~]. It would have surprised me if it would, since Pd-extended<br>
for Linux and Windows also does not ship with [readanysf~].<br>

BTW: It seems [readanysf~] doesn't work properly on Windows, too. After<br>
having added zlib.dll to and copied pd.dll to C:\Windows\syswow64<br>
(Windows 7 64bit), I was finally able to successfully load [readanysf~],<br>
but it wouldn't play any files (or at least not any mp3 files). It said:<br>
Invalid file format or unsupported codec. This seems expectable, since<br>
the readanysf~ binary isn't linked to any decoder library like<br>
gmerlin-avdecoder.<br>
