I have an ideapad u350 and can report it works great with the latest
Ubuntu. Everything that I have used, including wireless, opengl, HDMI
output, work out of the box without having to fiddle with drivers.
The VGA out will also drive a high resolution screen.
There was a problem with audio at one point about a year ago, but that
has been fixed.
With the extended battery, it also goes for 9 hours before re-juicing.
I haven't tried the express slot, but I imagine it works.
