I'm seeking new graduate students who are interested in pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, to begin study in Autumn 2011. My work is at the intersection of music, HCI, and applied machine learning, and I'm looking for students who have an interest in one or more components of my research agenda, outlined below. </div><div><br></div><div>Students will be fully funded (tuition, healthcare, plus a salary to live on) throughout the PhD, and they will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with an excellent group of faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduates in the Music Department. Students who are interested will also be able to incorporate their own performance, composition, and/or teaching into their research work. Additionally, students will have many opportunities to study with renowned researchers in other areas of Computer Science, including theoretical machine learning and computer graphics, and in other departments across the university. As members of my new lab, they will have the opportunity to shape the future of music and HCI research at Princeton, as well as the potential to collaborate with industry partners working on the state-of-the-art in music information retrieval, mobile music and gaming, and virtual and augmented reality.</div><div><br></div><div>Prospective students should have undergraduate or Master's degrees in Computer Science or a closely related field, a strong interest in a combination of HCI, applied machine learning, and/or music, and the desire to pursue a research-intensive PhD in a highly ranked computer science graduate program.
