[GEM-dev] setting DISPLAY variable for gemwin

Hi there,

is it possible to set the DISPLAY variable for the gemwin separately on 
linux?
The problem is that i want to run the gui on another system, while the
gem-window should still be on local.
so i set DISPLAY = "whatever:0" at startup, but then i surely get the 
gui and
the gem-window on my remote system.
can it be set with a control message or is something else implemented?
