oops; obviously i had incidentally checked in another version of the 
poyntonified conversion routines....

mea culpa

however, it was not the check-in yesterday that was missing the defines 
(GemPixUtil.cpp wasn't even touched) but rather one week ago (when i 
initially committed the poynton-conversion)

i had sent you the correct version with the crazy ifdefs.

to get the history right, i have now checked in the good version...
