it depends ...
on some OS it's possible ...
e.g.:
you could use gem2pdp and then record the video with pix_record or 
pix_theorain (on os-x, linux),
or on OS-X there is now the new pix_record object, ...

since it is possible in pdp it's not really necessary in GEM ... :)
