You're right about you previous Intel version. Here's the (now old) error:

/Users/Stefano/pd_externs/Gem.pd_darwin:

/usr/local/lib/libfreetype.6.dylib
  Referenced from: /Users/Stefano/pd_externs/Gem.pd_darwin

Gem: can't load library
