[GEM-dev] Still Crashes with Matrox card

That crash is inside the driver and glTranslatef() is one of the most basic
functions of OpenGL.  There is no problem with glTranslate on Windows and
OSX as I've called it several million times on both.

The test patch you included works just fine for any size too.
