yes, but:

with Gem>=0.93, video capturing is factored out into a plugin system;
you have to make sure that the relevant plugins are installed.
for accessing ieee1394 devices you a plugin for either (depending on
your type of device) a dc1394 or a dv4l backend.
you should get a list of installed plugins when creating the first
[pix_video] object in the patch.

e.g. i get:
[pix_video]: backend #0='v4l2'	: v4l2 analog
[pix_video]: backend #1='dv4l'	: dv4l dv
[pix_video]: backend #2='dc1394': dc1394 iidc
[pix_video]: backend #3='pylon'	: pylon gige GigE Camera Emulation

make sure you see "dv4l" and/or "dc1394".
if you don't see them, you have to compile the plugins and install them
next to your Gem.pd_linux [1]

if you do see them, you should be able to access your camera.
i don't think that /dev/fw0 is actually your camera, as this is usually
the fw-controller; try /dev/fw1
you should also be able to query all available cameras, by sending a
[enumerat( message to [pix_video] and watching the 2nd outlet of the
object.
