do you have a file "freetype/config/ftheader.h" on your disk?
where?
here it is in the equivalent of
"/Users/nix/gem/pd-gem/trunk/GemLibs/FTGL/freetype
include/freetype/config/ftheader.h"

i don't like the notion of X11 here.
