unlikely. i think hans is talking about the nightly builds here, which
are always started from "clean".

i wanted to try this on the build machine, but unfortunately cannot find it.

i logged into both i386 ubuntu machines listed on [1], and looked for
compiled versions of Gem, and all loaded.

the lucid machine seems to have a natty chroot installed, but the
Gem.pd_linux therein has been compiled on 2010/06/04 (hugh?) and btw
loads fine.

how can i get access to a system with the broken binary?
