Summary: alea.mpg shows up as 1 frame using pix_film on OSX

Initial Comment:
Pd-extended 0.43.1, 2012-04-02 32-bit on a MacBook Pro 3,1 running Mac OS X 10.6.8/Intel.

opening Gem -> examples -> 04.pix -> 05.film, then loading alea.mpg, it tells me the video is "1 frames (320x240) at 1.000000 fps" and procedes to make a fractal-like animation. Full Pd window log and screenshot attached

Message:
I just tested this again to be sure:

- Pd-extended 0.42.5 i386 32-bit on Mac OS X 10.6.8/Intel: When I load
alea.mpg, it outputs 0 from the total frames outlet but sending [auto 1( it
plays fine.

- Pd-extended 0.43.1-20120419 i386 32-bit on Mac OS X 10.6.8/Intel: When I
load alea.mpg, it outputs 1 from the total frames outlet but sending [auto
1( does not play it.

Trying to build Gem from master now, I'll report back on that.

Message:
Just did a little more testing. alea.mpg and 64849285.mp4 both play fine
in Quicktime and in Pd-extended 0.42.5. It is only Pd-extended 0.43.1 with
Gem 0.93 that has this issue

Message:
I just tested this using
Pd-0.43.1-extended-20120423-ubuntu-oneiric-i386.deb on Ubuntu Oneiric/i386
on my MacBook Pro 3,1 with a nVidia Corporation G84 [GeForce 8600M GT] .
It seems to work fine with alea.mpg, /64849285.mp4, and others all work
fine. Seems like its an OSX issue.

Message:
yes, both play fine. alea.mpg is the same old video that has been included
in Gem forever

Message:
The video works fine on my config. Last Gem from git, Pd 0.43.2test1,
ubuntu 11.10. Here i get :
[pix_film]: loaded file: /home/jack/Vidéos/filmsPourTests/64849285.mp4
with 359 frames (640x480) at 30.000000 fps
So the problem seems to be related to MasOSX only.

Message:
I am also seeing the same behavior using a mp4 from the internet:
[pix_film]: loaded file: /Users/hans/64849285.mp4 with 1 frames (640x480)
at 1.000000 fps

This is the video, you can download the .mp4 from the download section of
the page:
